West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday called the Rafale deal a “big scam” and said that she supported the views of the Congress party on this issue. One of the most vocal critics of the BJP-led government at the Centre, Ms. Banerjee has not spoken much about the Rafale deal. Asked about The Hindu’s revelations on the deal, the West Bengal Chief Minister said Mr. Modi is used to taking unilateral decisions and interfering in every issue and referred to demonetisation.“I was not sure how much money was involved but something has happened behind the curtains in the deal. Rafale is a big scam and I support Congress on this,” she said. The Trinamool Congress chairperson said Mr. Modi turns out to be a chaiwala (tea vendor) during the polls and becomes Rafale-wala after it.
